The Italian Movement for Modelling and Simulation (MIMOS) was started in Turin on March 5th, in 2002, after a year of meetings that took place among the first founder members to identify who was interested in "Modelling & Simulation" in Italy. Today MIMOS is more structured to activities in this field and gathering and maintaining the interests big, medium and small enterprises, research centres and universities, professional studies, students and individual users.

Through the leadership of Eng. Pierluigi Duranti, the first President in office, and the support of the Board of Directors, MIMOS has built its operational stability, year after year, realizing that this informative web portal that the annual meeting and study time, that brings their associates up to date on the latest news of technical and scientific research. University students and research workers locate in MIMOS an opportunity related to prize for the best thesis and research, advertised by the group.

Virtuality is an integrated component in many different disciplines and permeates our daily lives, though it is not always perceived contribution. After the first period of experimentation, the role of research must be directed towards improving the human condition in all its expressions.

Following this paradigm, MIMOS whants to report traditionally far-reaching areas: Aeronautical Engineering with Archaeology, Surgery with Architecture, video game enthusiasts along with philosophers of technology.

This "cross cultural" has proved itself the best tool that the Movement has made available to associates and those who followed in recent years.

Today MIMOS is the reality I have the honour to represent, thanks to the confidence placed in me by members and advisers. I’m aware that they have asked me to continue with the impeccable work of my predecessors and to continued to search for new growth areas which I’ll start immediately, as I can rely on a group of advisers operating with proven capacity and experience, and on inexhaustible energy of Dr. Paolo Proietti, Vice-President in office, and Dr. Marco Fabbri, head of the secretariat.

I express my thanks to those who supported us in recent years, to Corporate Companies and all members indiscriminately, without which MIMOS would not have been able to operate. This association has distinguished itself by seriousness and pragmatism: the routes we have already followed bear withness to this fact.

I hope whoever would like to know more about us will cooperate and support us in this journey to become aware of the importance that sharing and timeliness of information play in life of each company, large or small it is. MIMOS is an opportunity to know and be known, to update and make public your work.

Membership is very simple: as an individual you can register as an Ordinary Associate or Supporter while Public and private companies and firms can support MIMOS as Corporate Members. Through the web portal, you can read the Rules and download the forms for joining.

Welcome, therefore, in MIMOS.
