MIMOS joins the European Alliance for Innovation
Since last April MIMOS has joined the European Alliance for Innovation (EAI). www.eai.eu
. EAI was created by leaders from industry, research, and policy making organizations to engage the global community with the shared goal of securing Europe’s future competitiveness through innovation. By harnessing the potential of the ICT revolution, EAI engages the global community in all sectors of society to explore ways in which innovation in technology and business can benefit society at large. EAI combines vision and advocacy of society leaders with a grassroots democratic participative model, functioning together through innovative web tools covering all stages of the innovation cycle to build a new and sustainable innovation paradigm.
On last 22nd April the MIMOS Workshop on Simulation Applications to Food & Beverage (SimFood) has been held in Parma with a great success in despite of it was born as a bet in affording a niche topic. A full day with very interesting lectures keeping high the attention from the audience of more than fifty people coming from universities and companies involved in the F&B sector. More information and workshop presentations are available on www.mimos.it/simfood2015
Next Events in Italy (supported by MIMOS)
Virtual Reality in Medicine Summer School
The aim of the school is to analyse synergies between emerging technologies (such as virtual reality, augmented reality, robotics, and man-machine interaction) and medicine, allowing engineers and practitioners to discuss on the subject and to present an overview on the advanced technologies and their applications in medicine. 15-20 June 2015. Laboratorio Diffuso di Ricerca intErdisciplinare Applicata alla Medicina (DREAM), Ospedale “V. Fazzi”, Lecce http://avrlab.it/simulazione-e-medicina/
Summer School on Cultural Heritage 3D Surveying & Modeling
The summer school on “Cultural Heritage 3D Surveying and Modeling” has been organized within the activities of the Paestum project - http://paestum.fbk.eu
, giving the opportunity to scholars, PhD students, researchers and specialists in the surveying and heritage fields to deepen their knowledge and expertise with reality - based 3D modeling techniques. The summer school consists of theoretical lectures (surveying, photogrammetry, active sensors, etc.) and practical work, in the field and in the lab. The participants will learn the basics in surveying and data acquisition (with digital cameras, laser scanning sensors and UAV platforms) as well as practice with data processing methods for 3D models and metric products generation. It will be held on 12 - 19 July 2015 , in Paestum, Italy
